Large-scale exhibition from 28 June – 3 August 2003

From 28 June to 3 August 2003, the Exhibition was shown with great success in the rooms of the Tübingen Kunsthalle. On display was a much expanded, multimedia version of the Foundation’s ordinary exhibition, enhanced through video presentations and exhibits of objects typical of the various religions.

The Exhibition offers an in-depth insight into the worlds of the various religions and their ethic. Presented are the following religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Chinese Religion, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Exhibition aims to contribute to a better understanding of the fundamental significance of common ethical standards for our contemporary world.

The basis of this Exhibition is the multimedia-project “Spurensuche. Die Weltreligionen auf dem Weg” (Exploring the tracks of the world religions) and the “Global Ethic Declaration” of the Parliament of the World Religions in Chicago, 1993.

The Exhibition in Tübingen consisted of the following elements: 48 textile images (for the most part in large format), 91 text and image panels, 10 showcases with objects representing the art and ritual life of the religions, and 6 multi-media stations with continuous presentations of the corresponding “Spurensuche”-films.

Exhibition program
• In cooperation with the regional school authorities, the schools of the region were invited to incorporate the exhibition into their curricula.
• One school organized a film and discussion project on the Kosovo War in the context of the exhibition.
• Daily at 14:30 a public introduction to the exhibition was offered.
• At the exhibition various materials to deepen understanding were offered on sale.
